PROFESSOR PHIL AND FRIENDS STORYBOOKS

AND THAT’S THE WAY THE STORY GROWS

Busybody’s love of eavesdropping and gossip result in another round of humorous chaos on the farm when she ignites a tidal wave of rumors. Because of this, a protest is started against Farmer Tom. Is Ratty McRat’s life really in jeopardy or will Professor Phil use compassion to once again save the day and restore order on the farm?

UNEXPECTED TREASURES

Farmer Tom is worried about a water source while Gavin Gopher becomes distraught after learning his best friend Cate Caterpillar is gone. He seeks solace in Richard Rooster who jumps to all the wrong conclusions as usual.  They consult Professor Phil who explains that there is a magical change occurring in Cate’s life as well as in Farmer Tom’s life. Richard and Gavin will soon discover what those changes are.

RICHARD’S SECRET

Professor Phil is confused when Richard Rooster starts hiding from him all the farm animals are hush-hush about what is happening. Then Professor Phil sees Richard chumming around with Barnes  Bear! He assumes Richard no longer needs him which makes the Professor sad. After  Professor Phil arrives home, he is delighted to discover a wonderful surprise!

THE CROWSKEGEE AIR-BIRDS

Up in the air is from where the Crowskegee Air-Birds, George and Ed, protect Professor Phil's farm and all those who live there. When an evil chicken hawk robs Richard Rooster of his confidence and self-esteem, Professor Phil enlists the aid of the two loyal and courageous veteran warbirds. They summon the entire Air-Wing to help entrap the chicken hawk in Richard’s backyard. The surprising outcome astounds everyone, especially Richard Rooster.

PROFESSOR PHIL’S WALL OF LOVE

Oscar Otter is fearful when Busybody Bawkmeister flies into a rage and threatens to build a wall around the hen house to keep him out. Oskar runs to Richard Rooster for help, but this is a situation only Professor Phil can resolve. Professor Phil respects Busybody’s instinct to protect her eggs, but can he convince her to tear down the wall?

RICHARD ROOSTER AND THE DENTIST

Richard Rooster has jaw pain and is attempting to avoid a visit to the dentist. He becomes even more fearful when Marc Shark tells him horror stories about his own trips to the tooth doctor. Then Gavin Gopher explains why his front tooth is missing which only worsens Richard's fear.  Professor Phil tries to tell everyone why there’s no reason to fear the dentist, but never gets a chance. When Professor Phil does finally explain, his reason not only shakes up the hen house but results in Richard fleeing the dental chair before the dentist even fires up his drill!

RICHARD’S STICKY SITUATION

Barnes keeps a large barrel in his den. Richard wants to know what is in it despite warnings from
Barnes to keep out.

But Richard is unable to contain himself and violates Barnes’ trust by peeking inside. By doing so, Richard now finds himself in a sticky situation.

PROFESSOR PHIL’S MISSING MAIL

When Professor Phil and Richard Rooster open the  mailbox, they realize the mail is missing - except for an empty envelope which contains Madison Mouse! Accusations and anger start flying at once and Farmer Tom is beckoned to sort out the issue. Once it is discovered that Busybody Bawkmeister “borrowed” the mail, Professor Phil delivers a firm message to not just Busybody, but the whole farm.

PROFESSOR PHIL’S TRIUMPHANT PARTY

The whole gang gathers together for Professor Phil’s annual potluck.  During the affair, chaos erupts as Busybody, the hens, and Richard Rooster dissolve into a frenzy of flying feathers, wondering where Gavin Gopher might be.  Gavin appears refusing to remove his hat, mortified by what he believes is a bad mohawk haircut.  Beautiful butterfly Cate assures Gavin he looks fabulous, as Madison Mouse silently fumes over having a rival in beauty.  Then Barnes Bear arrives and changes everything.

THE GREATEST GIFTS

A torrential downpour threatens to flood the farm and trap Madison Mouse in her mouse hole.  Meanwhile, Professor Phil finds Buddy Beaver depressed because everyone makes fun of his buck teeth.  Professor Phil reminds Buddy his teeth are what makes him a Beaver and provides him the talent to build dams.  Then the professor leaves to inspect the farm to ensure the others are safe. When Professor Phil returns, he finds Buddy gnawing the final log to erect a dam that not only will keep everyone safe but proves a very important point.

FINDING YOUR HAPPY PLACE

Richard Rooster finds Busybody Bawkmeister enjoying a favorite book and Professor Phil working on his crystals collection. These simple pleasures makes them happy.  Richard sees Farmer Tom happy doing farm work, Barnes Bear happy listening to jazz music. Richard sighs because he cannot find his happy place!  Dejected, he returns to Professor Phil and learns that his happy place was with him the whole time..he just didn't know where to look.

 BARNYARD Auditions

"Casting call for one and all!  It’s time for the annual barnyard talent show auditions.  Some will win and some will lose," explains Professor Phil, as everyone vies for a spot in the show.  During tryouts, someone catches Barnes Bear’s tap shoes on fire, sprays water on the wings of the fluttering butterflies during their choreographed aerial show, and chews through the microphone cord so Madison’s lovely aria cannot be heard!  Ratty McRat tat-a-tats across the stage, mocking the professor before he runs away. Can the show go on? And more importantly, can Ratty be reformed? Only Professor Phil knows.
“Wonderful! I have never seen a children’s book that addresses the many issues of today in such a clever manner. I look forward to seeing your stories in bookstores everywhere.” -award-winning author/illustrator Robert Quackenbush (Simon & Schuster)
